The gating system is the channel through which the molten plastic enters the mold cavity from the nozzle of the injection machine. It includes the main channel, the runner, the gate and the cold material. The following principles should be paid attention to when designing the gating system of the injection mold
(1) Design a reasonable gating system layout according to the determined number of plastic parts cavities.
(2) Select the form and position of the gating system according to the shape and size of the plastic part and the wall thickness and many other factors, combined with the selection of the form of the parting surface.
(3) The flow of materials should be shortened as much as possible and the material handle should be easily removed to save raw materials and improve injection efficiency.
(4) The cross-sectional area and length of the gating system should be selected according to the molding properties of the selected plastic parts, especially its flow properties, and make it a smooth transition to facilitate the flow of logistics.
